Sunburns

We went to Seven Peaks water park on Wednesday of last week for Miles' birthday. He loves to swim and play in the water and always asks if we can stay until the pool closes. If we leave early, he always asks why we have to leave. So for his birthday, we were planning on staying all day. I was none too excited by this prospect because for human beings, 10 hours in the sun is a bit much. We did leave earlier than closing, however, so it was only a punishing 6+ hours. The day after, we all awoke to painful burns and sun sickness. I am still pretty red (meaning "rather red", not "cute red") and feel like someone gave me a good caning across my tummy. We had a good time, but the kids are not getting piggy-back rides to bed for at least a week.
