More Monterey

On our second day in Monterey, we went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

The kids had fun looking at the animals (and the animals looking at them) ...

and also had fun doing various play things like stamping pictures of their favorite animals and posing in a giant penguin egg.

We then went for a little drive with Grandady to Pfeiffer Beach, which is down in Big Sur.

Since the ground was made of sand, the kids were of course immediately inspired to make a castle (or hole ... or something).

Afterwards we went back home to prepare dough to make Bretzli (little swiss waffle cookies).

While waiting for the dough to sit for a little while, we went to the tidepools.

But it was very cold and getting dark, so we went back home to put the dough in the Bretzli iron. They were delicious!
