Swiss Independence Day

I'm sure all of you remember the 1st of August is a pretty big deal in Switzerland. I guess in 1292 they declared their independence from a bunch of surrounding countries. Well, we were not on top of it this year. And we would have dropped the ball altogether except Brian's brother Clint and his family invited us over for a celebration. So a big "thank you" to Lea for all her hard work and planning.

Brian's nieces Erika and Kelly Ann, Lilette, Brian's sister-in-law Lea, and Clark enjoying really delicious fondue:

My favorite part of Swiss Independence day is the children's lantern parade. Unfortunately, it was raining this day so we just lit the Swiss decorated paper lanterns inside and turned out the lights.

Brian's brother Clinton put his Alp Horn together and let everyone try it out. The only rule was you had to wear Clinton's authentic Swiss jacket and hat when you blew in the horn. Miles blew us away:

Then Lea put on a yodelling CD and we danced the Polka. Here Brian's brother Clint and his daughter Erika (wearing her ballroom team shoes) are showing us how it's done:
