Though it didn't really snow much while we were there, it was cold enough that the road next to the cabin stayed covered with snow so that we could start each day by going out and sledding. We had some good races and some minor crashes, but mostly just a lot of fun. Here are some pictures of us sledding:
Beth and Emily left the cabin once during our stay to pick up some last minute food items the day before Thanksgiving. Upon returning, Emily came in to inform Scott and I that they had not quite made it all the way up slippery driveway, and that in fact their mini van had slipped off the side of the driveway.
So we had a little adventure of digging the snow out around the van and luckily had a neighbor drive by who owned an SUV with a tow cable and got it out. So it was a fun adventure and we laughed about it.
During the days, the kids did several craft projects, like making paper cut-out turkeys ...
... making paper bag indian vests and headbands...
... and writing secret messages and pictures with toothpicks dipped in vinegar and then holding them over a candle to reveal them.
After Thanksgiving dinner, we had a little talent show where most everyone played or sang a song. Scott and Emily played "What Child is This" on their guitars, Miles played "Ode to Joy" on the piano, Stu played "Jingle Bells" on the piano, Abe sang "Down by the Bay", and Lilette played "Over the River and Through the Woods".
We all had such a fun time and hope everyone else had a happy and safe Thanksgiving!

Wow, sounds like you guys had a great time! I haven't seen any of the Eliasons in YEARS! Scott looks great and his wife is so cute! Be glad your Thanksgiving didn't involve any blood. One of our nephews (4yo) threw a rock at another nephew's face (5yo) and there was a trip to the emergency room and 6 stitches involved there. In comparison, digging a minivan out of the snow really does sound like fun. Especially the snow part. We had stinky rain.
That would be my side of the family. :-)
Dalin has a pretty good arm too.
Wow! Stitches do add excitement to Thanksgiving!
