Our American Girl

About a year ago my Uncle Tom said, "My girls went through an 'American Girl phase'.". I didn't really understand what he meant until recently.

Lilette and her best friend Brooklyn spend all of their spare time in Brooklyn's room because Brooklyn's parents made her an American Doll house for her birthday (It stands taller than her bunkbeds.) Brooklyn's mom, Kaelynn, put a lot of work into the details-Julie from the 1970's has a disco ball hanging from her ceiling and a picture of the Brady Bunch on her wall:

I borrowed this DVD from the library and the girls got to have a "late-over". Lilette and her buddies have been begging to see it since Christmas. (It's a straight to video American Girl movie about combating bullying in schools.)

The most fun thing for me lately is Lilette learning to weave a Navajo Rio Grand Blanket. She found this weaving loom kit in the American Girl catalog and asked for it for Christmas. She worked really hard and with a ton of help from my mom she wove a very pretty mini doll sized American Girl Navajo blanket:

Here is the final product:
